But I feel the examples don’t do justice to the habit stacking idea.

There is a difference between ‘practice’ and ‘habit'.

Going for a daily run maybe a habit, but a cold shower after is a ‘practice'.

Eating dinner is another one. Or going early to bed.

To add to the conversation, I consider habit pairing to be even better.

For eg: Listening to Podcasts on a walk/run

Listening to an audiobook while journaling

Etc etc.
